Edwin Howard is an unfortunately ordinary eleven-year-old with no skills, no special powers, not even a cool pet. What he does have is an insatiable love for books, especially big, hefty tomes about ancient myths and magic. So when he discovers a secret room within his town’s old, crumbling library—filled with books on real magic—he does what any curious reader would do: he opens one.
And accidentally summons a Real Live…Dead…MUMMY!!
But not just any mummy—a boy prince from an ancient Egyptian kingdom, on a mission to learn about the above living world. Despite their differences, Edwin and the Mummy Prince strike up an unlikely friendship and find that they have to depend upon each other.
But dark forces are stirring in the underworld. A mysterious agent of chaos lurking in the shadows has been watching, and he’ll stop at nothing to capture the prince’s ancient magic to gain ultimate magical domination over both the above and under worlds.
When this mysterious figure imprisons the boy Prince in a cursed crystal, it’s up to Edwin to rescue him. With only his brain, his books, and a few badly-pronounced spells, Edwin must journey beyond the veil between worlds, face down ancient evils, and prove that being ordinary doesn’t mean you can’t be brave.
